Charles Blanchard Returns Home to Fight Raul Amaya After The Ultimate Fighter TV Series
CharlesBlanchard

Charles Blanchard recently appeared on the mixed martial art's version of the Real World, “The Ultimate Fighter” (TUF) on Spike TV. Charles won his way into the popular TV series with a brutal win over game opponent Jacen Flynn. Though Charles usually fights at the 170 lbs. Welterweight limit, he took a chance by appearing on the show as a middleweight. Charles was eliminated from the competition for a UFC contract by Art of Fighting veteran Jamie Yager. Charles made no excuses after his defeat, knowing he has much bigger fights ahead of him in his career, like the one he has on September 4 at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.

The Jacksonville, FL native, Blanchard will be facing undefeated up and comer Raul Amaya. Amaya is 5-0 with his most recent victory coming over another then undefeated wrestler, Joe Robinson (4-1). Blanchard will no doubt be the toughest opponent the young welterweight has faced. With wins over Douglas Lima (14-4), Jim Wallhead (19-5), and Tim Stout (10-8), Blanchard is known as one of the best welterweights on the east coast.

This bout will be a featured bout on the card as Charles is returning home to Jacksonville. “This fight might be one of the best welterweight match ups out there right now, Blanchard didn't get a chance to really showcase what he is capable of in the TUF TV series, but trust you and me, this guy is for real and he has a tough task ahead of him in Raul Amaya.” Stated AOF promoter Nathan Smith.

Art of Fighting 9: Apocalypse will take place on Saturday September 4 at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. “Blanchard vs. Amaya will be one of many great match ups on this card, Jacksonville fans can and should expect to see the best fight card that has ever graced their city.” Stated AOF matchmaker Nicholas Smith.
