Josh Franklin

franklinAbout 30% of the people that attempt to earn their Green Beret actually end up wearing one, Josh Franklin is one of them. At the age of 19 he joined the Army as a Blackhawk mechanic and by 2002 he had completed the Special Forces Medical Sergeants course, one of the toughest courses in all United States Military.

Josh was deployed all throughout Asia in his military career but recalls his time helping Tsunami victims in Sri Lanka as his most rewarding experience. Many people have forgotten about the 2004 Tsunami which claimed over 300,000 lives, Josh never will.

After leaving the military Josh worked as personal security detail for Senators and Congressmen in Iraq and trained the border police in Afghanistan. He made his professional mixed martial arts debut in 2008 against former WWE wrestler Bobby Lashley. Franklin didn't sustain any real damage and looked to be doing well in the fight when a cut over his eye caught the ref's attention, which led to the stoppage. Since then Josh has been deployed overseas and has been training to fight the entire time.

Reinvigorated, Franklin will look to follow in the foot steps of successful Special Forces turned MMA fighter and good friend, Tim Kennedy. Josh will be fighting for his son and twin daughters on September 4 in Jacksonville, FL. Although by most people's standards, he's done enough already...
